Fostering a future

The Foster Parents Plan helped more than 12 thousand poor chidren and their families in Hong Kong before it left Hong Kong 36 years ago. Now called plan international, the charity has returned to raise funds from some of the very chidren it helped. The Pearl Report met some of these grown-up kids and discovered rags to riches stories that mirror Hong Kong's economic progress over the last 50 years. Many of the kids who received help from western donors are now sponsoring kids themselves. We take a look at what difference sponsors' donations have made in China's poorest rural areas.
