Ten years ago in Hong Kong a pregnant woman would have to wait until her baby was delivered before she could find out it was normal or not. Now abnormalities in the fetus can be diagnosed within the trimester of pregnancy. This episode takes a look at the research activities done by the staff of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong on prenatal diagnosis and the services provided for children at the time they are conceived till early childhood.
