圖片左方的爐峰塔（俗稱老襯亭）於1972年8月29日正式開放，頂層設有西餐廳，餐廳下層為咖啡室，而底層則是中菜餐館。爐峰塔於1993年清拆，原址發展成今日的凌霄閣。The current Peak Tower is the second on the site. Construction of the first (on the left) started in 1971, and it was opened on August 29, 1972. The Tower Restaurant was situated on the top deck while the Peak Coffee Shop was located on the floor below. The first Peak Tower was demolished in 1993.
