Ma Wan is an island lying off the northern coast of Lantau Island. In the past, the inhabitants of Ma Wan were mainly fishermen and farmers. Consequently, there is also a long-standing fishing community and several small squatter settlements. However, with the decline of both activities, many residents now engage in mariculture or renting out leisure boats to tourists. Only a small number of them still continue to fish in the coastal waters.馬灣是一個離島，位於大嶼山的北面。多年來，馬灣居民皆以捕魚和耕種為生，故島上亦有水上人聚居及由寮屋組成的小村落。時至今天，隨著捕魚和耕種活動的式微，大部分居民都改以養魚或出租釣魚小艇為生，只有小部分仍然在近岸水域捕魚作業。
