Anglo-Indian architecture 英印建築

After the typhoon of July 1841 had been cleared away, the construction of more permanent stone buildings 'commenced with great spirit.' These warehouses and residences were modelled on the Anglo-Indian 'compradoric' architecture to be found in Britain's Eastern outposts. These early homesteads followed a similar pattern - large and functional houses with high ceilings and wide verandahs.
