Big business greed

Richard Tsoi Yiu-cheong (Convenor, Coalition to Monitor Public Transport and Utilities) tells why he is angry with the two power companies for raising sharply their tariffs in 2012 even though they are providing reliable service and relatively inexpensive electricity. He discusses whether the government has the right to be angry with the two companies under the Scheme of Control it signed which allows them to raise tariff by a maximum of 9.9%. He comments on whether the two power companies have a monopoly to operate, and the benefits of opening the market to competition.
