大埔火車站建於1910年，戰後改名為大埔滘火車站。站旁設有碼頭，是大埔區及香港九龍各處往大鵬灣一帶的重要車站。 The Tai Po Railway Station was built in 1910. It was known as Tai Po Kau Railway Station after the Second World War. The Station was a busy little place with a jetty and pier for boarding the popular launch services to China across Mirs Bay.
