Based on a marital study in Hong Kong, this book examines changes thatoccur in the marital relationship today. The author concludes thatas 'affective individualism' is used to characterize modern marriages in the West, 'affective familism' is a more appropriate character of marriages among the Chinese in Hong Kong.
