第二次世界大戰後，中環再進行填海，廣場隨後興建。廣場原有的卜公碼頭及皇后碼頭，於後來進行填海工程時均遭拆卸。The site was reclaimed after World War II. The original Blake Pier and Queen’s Pier were demolished to make way for the reclamation.
