照片左方可見到香港天主教聖母無原罪主教座堂的鐘樓。整座教堂以磚築成，石階及圍牆則用花崗石建成，是香港的第一座天主教堂。當堅道總堂於1888年落成後，這座教堂便拆卸了。The belfries of the first Roman Catholic Church (The Hong Kong Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception) are seen on the left. Bricks were used for its external decorations, and granite for the steps and walls. The Church was demolished in 1888 when the site of worship was transferred to the newly-built Cathedral above Caine Road.
