In 1946, Un Long Public Middle School (now renamed as Yuen Long Public Secondary School) was the first secondary school established by the Government in the New Territories. The school moved into the campus at Au Tau in 1949 and moved again in 1989 to the present modern campus in Town Park Road South, Yuen Long.1946年，元朗公立中學是第一所由政府在新界成立的中學。1949年，學校搬遷至凹頭，1989年，再搬遷至現在位於元朗公園南路的現代校舍。
