高流灣位於西貢東北，原名較流灣，多年前改名為高流灣後，已沒有太多人認識較流灣這個名稱。由於較流灣地勢比較受風，有村民在附近高山遠足時見到海水不停地轉動，形成的圖案就像「較（攪）流」一樣，因而得名。Ko Lau Wan is located in the northeast of Sai Kung. It was formerly called “Kau Lau Wan“, a name almost forgotten by people since it was replaced by “Ko Lau Wan“. As Ko Lau Wan is located on the windward side of the peninsula, some villagers saw from nearby mountains that the sea water close to the village continually rotated; hence the name “Kau Lau (twisted current)“.
