山頂纜車是本港最早的機動交通工具，於1888年啟用。這位於花園道的舊纜車站已於1980年拆卸重建成聖約翰大廈，而新的山頂纜車中環總站設於該大廈地下。Peak Tram Terminus was opened in 1888, it was the earliest machine driven mode of transport in Hong Kong. This old terminus on Garden Road was demolished in 1980, the same site was rebuilt as St. John's Building where the new Peak Tram station is on its ground floor.
