In 1952, two 5-storey buildings were completed by the Model Housing Society on King's Road opposite the Ritz Gardens providing low-cost housing for 100 families. Three years later, three new buildings were added catering to a total of 200 eligible families.1952年香港模範屋宇會興建兩幢位於鰂魚涌英皇道麗池大廈對面的五層高樓宇率先落成，提供100個廉租房屋單位；隨後三年再增建三幢大廈，供200個合資格的家庭入住。
