詹遜爵士迎接楊慕琦爵士 Sir Franklin Charles Gimson welcomes Sir Mark Young's return
After the war Governor Sir Mark Young is seen being welcomed back at Kai Tak Airport by the Colonial Secretary F.C. Gimson who acted on behalf of the governor during his imprisonment in Manchuria. Young resumed his duties as Governor of Hong Kong on 1 May 1946. Return of the Governor: Initially imprisoned in Room 336 of the Peninsula Hotel, and later incarcerated with other officials in Manchukuo, Sir Mark Young was restored to his governorship in May 1946, bringing to an end an eight-month military adminstration overseen by the Colonial Secretary, F.C. Gimson. Young caused anxiety in Whitehall by proposing political reforms that would have allowed Hong Kong residents to choose a representative Legislative Council. As a result, he was shortly replaced by Sir Alexander Grantham and retired from the governorship in 1947.
