Governor Sir Alexander Grantham 港督葛量洪爵士
Sir Alexander William George Herder Grantham, GCMG ( 1899-1978) was a British colonial administrator who, immediately after his tenure as Fiji High Commissioner, was assigned the post of twenty-second Governor of Hong Kong from 1947 to 1957. In December 1953, a fire destroyed a large slum area in Shek Kip Mei, Kowloon, leaving many homeless. It was under Grantham's administration that the government began in earnest the mammoth task of developing resettlement housing for the homeless.
