Holding up a mirror to the ever-changing face of Hong Kong, the latest manifestation of Chater House, inevitably arouses speculation as to how long it will survive the pressures of urban evolution before it too gives way to something bigger and newer, if not necessary better. Chater House is fittingly named after a human colossus whose reputation has proved more tenacious than much that has been named after him, in this case Sir Paul Chater, the visionary co-founder of Hongkong Land.
