The Queer Asia book series opens a space for books from all disciplines on non-normative sexuality and gender cultures, identities and practices in Asia. But what is "Queer Asia"? What are the challenges, advantages, risks, and new possibilities created by launching a book series with such a title? The speakers debated these issues. The event also celebrated the imminent publication Undercurrents: queer culture and postcolonial Hong Kong and other new titles forthcoming in early 2009.
