Aerial view of Mid-Levels and Central 半山、中環鳥瞰圖

The crowded and prosperous urban core of the City of Victoria as seen from the Peak in 1940. Caine Road, in the foreground, is dominated by Caritas, the Catholic Diocese of charitable organizations and the Canossian Convent. Left-centre is the Jamia Mosque with its distinctive minarets of 1915. Further south is the Central Police Station and Victoria Prison compound. Above right, glowing in the sunshine is the Hongkong Bank, completed in 1935.
