An oil of Sir George William Des Voeux, GCMG (1834-1909), a British colonial governor who served as Governor of Fiji, Newfoundland, and as tenth Governor of Hong Kong from 1887 to 1891. Des Voeux Road Central, and Des Voeux Road West are named in his memory.
