Mainlanders in Hong Kong
Lam Woon-kwong (Chairperson, Equal Opportunities Commission) comments if he is worried about the escalating conflict between mainlanders and Hongkongers over maternity beds, school spaces and cross-border driving, and whether he feels hand-tied in dealing with discrimination against Hongkongers and prejudice against mainlanders when such behaviours are not defined as discrimination under the existing law. He explains why he agrees with the Chief Executive's "administrative measures" to solve the maternity bed problem. Lam also opines whether the government is being racist when it refuses to fund ethnic minority children to learn Chinese but spends a bundle on the English School Foundation.
