Sir Thomas Jackson's tenure as Chief Manager commenced in the final year of the Bank's first Comprador Lo Pak Sheung. Sir Thomas served the Bank from 1876 to 1902. In early photographs his bronze, statuesque likeness is seen facing the institution he so ably served. Today however, in keeping with the times, the statue faces the law courts.
