Of the enormous pantheon of Chinese gods, the most important to Hong Kong's seafarers is Tin Hau goddess of the sea. During the colourful Tin Hau festival, thousands of devotees board gaily decorated junks that converge on the temple at Joss House Bay, south of the island.
