Calligraphist, Sichuan 四川書法家

The vermilion of his personal seal and the black characters of his name appear on all his work. The refined tools he employs - bamboo brush, black ink, ink stone and paper - are held in high esteem in China. They are the Four Treasures that, in the hands of a master, create characters of captivating beauty. Some brush strokes have fanciful names - 'wild goose landing' or 'swallows in flight.' 'Calligraphy demands that you use your heart as well as your hand,' he says, setting aside his brush and reaching for the seal that will complete his work of art.
