National identity, national education in schools, and mainlanders in Hong Kong

Peter Wong Man-kong (Deputy, National People's Congress) and Fung Wai-wah (President, Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union) discuss why Hongkongers identify themselves not as Chinese but as Hongkongers. They comment on Peking University Professor Kong Qingdong's derogatory remark calling Hongkongers "running dogs", how to solve the mainland-Hong Kong cultural differences, and whether the hostility towards mainlanders will worsen. They discuss if Hong Kong should control the influx of mainlanders and whether the Basic Law should be amended to prevent children born here of mainland parents from obtaining right-of-abode. Fung explains why he does not support the kind of proposed national education.
