Police machine gun 警察機關槍

This Bren gun was part of the armament of Marine Police launch No. 1. In a mutiny on board in 1949 organized by Communist sympathisers among its crew, the officers were murdered, and all arms landed and sent to Communist guerrillas then active along the East River north-east of Hong Kong. The gun was captured by British soldiers in 1953 during the Korean War and returned to Hong Kong where it became part of the garrison's complement of arms. Seven years later, a vigilant officer noticed the Hong Kong Police number and traced the gun's history. It is now preserved in the Hong Kong Police Museum.
