Alexandra Building, Central 中環亞歷山大行

As one of the first structures to be erected on reclaimed land, the Alexandra Building's distinctive rounded corner surmounted by a domed turret set the style for three of the other buildings that later appeared around this prominent Central intersection. Barely fifty years later the obsolete building was demolished in favour of a thirteen-storey successor named Alexandra House. But the lifetime of the successor was even briefer; it survived a full twenty years before being dismantled in 1975.
