一百年前, 承蒙各方捐助, 促成港大的誕生. 作為香港首間最高學府, 香港大學在過去一百年, 與香港同步成長, 見證着一個南中國海的小小漁港, 蛻變成國際知名大都會的滄桑歷程. 一個世紀以來, 港大在香港市民支持下, 肩負着為香港培養各界精英的使命, 與香港社會同步成長. 節目以感恩為題, 來自各個界別的精英校友, 如土木工程系校友李焯芬教授、麥齊光先生; 建築系校友嚴迅奇先生、林起和先生; 醫學院校友袁國勇教授、盧寵茂教授等, 會與教職員及捐贈者, 與市民一同回顧大學在過去一百年的成長歷程, 感謝香港的孕育!

Vice-Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council visited the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and attended the University of Hong Kong Centenary Ceremony on August 18, 2011. The Vice-Premier officiated at the unveiling of plaques ceremony of a medical research centre and a state key laboratory (partner laboratory) of HKU, and announced the allocation of funding to subsidizing the studies, exchanges and scientific research of HKU students and academic staff on the mainland. 2011年8月18日, 國務院副總理李克强到訪香港大學, 出席香港大學百周年校慶典禮。李克强副總理於典禮上為港大剛獲國家批准建立的一所研究中心及一所實驗室分室主持揭牌儀式,宣佈將設立專項資金,支持港大師生到內地學習、考察和科研。 HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui thanked the Vice-Premier and the audience for attending the Centenary Ceremony. Also attending the ceremony was another Guest of Honour Lord David Wilson, Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen. In the speech, he recalled his days when he studied at HKU 50 years ago. 校長徐立之教授於典禮上發言感謝副總理和各界人士參加是次校慶典禮。另一主禮嘉賓衛奕信勳爵於演說中回憶50年前於港大的生活,亦讚揚港大建校百年的成就。
