Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Association was set up during the Japanese Occupation period under the health regulations imposed by Japanese authorities on the local Chinese medicine industry.

Hong Kong Chinese Merchants Collection keeps the minutes of the 32 meetings of the Organizing Committee of the Association, Pledge of Compliance signed by members, admission fee receipts, monthly membership fee receipts/counterfoils, letters issued to shops not yet registered with the Association, letters urging members to settle monthly fee arrears and two bound books to record expenditures of the Organizing Committee.
