廣生行於1898年在廣州成立,1905年在香港開業,其後分店林立,遍佈中國南北各省市。馮福田是創辦人之一。產品以雙妹嚜作標記,每項均獲發商標註冊證以保障其專有權。隨著自設玻璃工場生產獨家品牌的香水瓶及包裝配件等,廣生行成功把當時視作奢侈品的香水、化妝品及各種男女裝飾用品平民化,令雙妹嚜品牌持續風靡海內外。
《香港華商特藏》保存了該行自1908-1950年間的文檔,包括年結算表、存支揭項紀錄、股東名單、各類發票及收據 、合約、政府批文、商標註冊證、訴訟文件、信件及相片等。
Kwong Sang Hong was founded by Fung Fuk Tin in Canton, China in 1898. Since then, more branches were set up in various provinces and cities throughout China. In 1905, its branch store in Hong Kong was opened. Its products were marked with the brand name “Two Girl” each of which was issued a trademark registration certificate to protect its exclusive rights. With its own glass factory producing perfume bottles and phials and packaging accessories of its branded products, Kwong Sang Hong successfully popularized perfumery, cosmetics and various ornament items for men and women, which were considered luxurious goods at the time.
Hong Kong Chinese Merchants Collection comprises the business materials of Kwong Sang Hong such as annual statement of accounts, income and expenditure records, shareholder lists, various invoices and receipts, contracts, government approval papers, trademark registration certificates, litigation documents, letters, photos etc. from 1908 to 1950.
