Basic Law Drafting History Online (BLDHO) is an online resource providing information and materials from the drafting history of Hong Kong's constitution, The Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. BLDHO is a joint project of the Centre for Comparative and Public Law and the HKU Libraries. Four databases are available for public access and full-text searching. DRAFTING MATERIALS houses a collection of almost 900 documents prepared or used by various official bodies and individuals from 1985 to 1990, when the Basic Law was drafted until promulgation, and from 1990 to 1997, when preparations were made for the resumption of sovereignty. NEWS COVERAGE provides access to newspaper articles reporting on the meetings of the various official committees and sub-committees from 1985 to 1990. LEGCO DATABASE collects the relevant debates in Hong Kong's Legislative Council from 1986 to 1991 concerning the Basic Law and drafting process. TEXTUAL HISTORY contains the various draft versions of each article of the Basic Law together with official commentary where available.
